The SyriaTex specialised export exhibition for the autumn-winter 2026-2027 season has opened in Damascus, bringing together 236 Syrian companies from across the country’s apparel and textile sector.
Organised by the Damascus and Aleppo chambers of industry under the Ministry of Economy and Industry, the exhibition features women’s, men’s and children’s clothing, underwear, cotton products, knitwear, fabrics, accessories and production supplies.
Deputy Minister of Economy and Industry Basel Abdel Hannan said the event reflects the sector’s recovery. He added that apparel exports increased by 118% between January and August 2026 compared with the same period in 2025.
The exhibition is also intended to connect Syrian manufacturers with businesspeople from neighbouring and friendly countries, according to the organisers. All products on display are locally made, with no foreign products included.
SyriaTex will run through September 26 at the Damascus Fairgrounds. It is open daily from 12pm to 9pm, with free visitor transport provided from Bab Touma and Cham Hotel.
