Tunisia has signed a cooperation agreement aimed at strengthening vocational training, employability and entrepreneurship under a project carried out with the Principality of Monaco.
The agreement brings together the Tunisian Agency for Vocational Training, the National Employment and Independent Work Agency, and the Tunisian Association for Management and Social Balance.
According to the Ministry of Employment and Vocational Training, the partnership will support national priorities by improving jobseekers’ employability and better aligning vocational training programs with labor-market needs.
The project will also focus on strengthening the teaching and technical capabilities of trainers and administrative staff at vocational training institutions. It will develop jobseekers’ professional and entrepreneurial skills while promoting entrepreneurship and private initiative.
Employment and Vocational Training Minister Riadh Chaoued stressed the importance of aligning international cooperation projects with national policies for human-resource development and social and economic inclusion. He also highlighted governance, evaluation and impact measurement.
Chama Gargouri, executive director of the Tunisian Association for Management and Social Balance, said the agreement would build on local and regional cooperation to help develop skills and improve employability.
