The Mohammed Bin Rashid Innovation Fund (MBRIF) has granted an AED 2 million credit guarantee to Wisewell, a UAE-based water technology company specializing in smart purification systems. This financial backing is designed to support the startup’s capital investment and research and development to further enhance its Internet of Things (IoT)-enabled water technology.

Eliminating Single-Use Plastics Through Smart Filtration

By offering a sustainable alternative to bottled water, Wisewell purifies water directly at the source while providing comprehensive real-time data. The IoT-connected systems enable businesses and households to actively monitor their water quality, consumption, and environmental impact. To date, the company’s technology has successfully prevented more than 17.4 million single-use plastic bottles from reaching landfills.

Strategic Backing For Homegrown Innovation

The MBRIF, an initiative launched by the UAE Ministry of Finance, operates its Guarantee Scheme to provide high-potential companies with access to affordable funding without requiring them to give up equity. Fatima Yousif Alnaqbi, Chief Innovation Officer and the Ministry’s representative at MBRIF, noted that supporting Wisewell strengthens the UAE’s position as a global hub for sustainable development by leveraging advanced technology to address critical public health and environmental challenges.

Sami Khoreibi, Founder of Wisewell, emphasized that the partnership will accelerate research, expand operational capabilities, and replace the logistical burdens of traditional bottled water delivery with a globally competitive, locally built technology platform. The startup’s measurable environmental impact has already earned it a spot in the Ministry of Economy’s Future100 initiative and recognition as a top 20 finalist in Majra’s Sustainable Impact Challenge 2025.
