Abu Dhabi-based AI group G42 and five portfolio companies have signed five memoranda of understanding in Athens covering AI infrastructure, government services, smart cities and life sciences.
Khazna Data Centers and Core42 will explore developing an AI factory with Greek energy and infrastructure company Copelouzos Group. Khazna would provide the physical infrastructure, while Core42 would supply cloud and AI computing for sectors including banking, telecommunications, shipping and government.
G42 companies Presight and Inception42 will also work with Greece’s Ministry of Digital Governance. Presight plans to explore AI-powered urban analytics for public safety, mobility and municipal operations, with early use cases including waste management and water-network monitoring. Inception42 will examine AI agents for government and education, including tools for cabinet meetings, government priority tracking and AI tutoring.
Meanwhile, M42 has signed an MoU with Athens LifeTech Park covering genomics infrastructure, population genomics, clinical development and biobank connectivity. The partnership also aims to support market access between UAE life sciences startups and Greek and European ventures.
The agreements could extend G42’s Intelligence Grid model into Greece, combining data centres, cloud, computing and industry applications. The company said the MoUs are non-binding, with project scopes, structures and timelines still to be agreed, subject to regulatory approvals and EU requirements.
