Sharjah Economic Development Department has hosted a forum aimed at helping women entrepreneurs turn business ideas into viable projects and expand their participation in the emirate’s economy.

Held under the theme “Sharjah Women Entrepreneurs: From Ambition to Investment,” the event brought together women entrepreneurs, policymakers, newcomers to the job market and women developing potential business ideas.

Participants included the Sharjah Foundation to Support Entrepreneurial Projects (RUAD), Sharjah City Municipality’s Health Department, Sharjah Business Women Council and NAMA Women Advancement Establishment. The organisations presented their services, support initiatives and opportunities for developing women-led businesses.

The programme covered entrepreneurship, decision-making and business development, as well as registration and membership options through RUAD. Sharjah City Municipality also outlined requirements, fees and penalties for activities requiring municipal approval, including salons and food businesses.

The forum featured two Sharjah entrepreneurs sharing their experiences and gave participants an opportunity to present their ideas, discuss challenges and exchange potential solutions with the relevant authorities.

RUAD also provided free individual consultations. Participants took part in bilateral meetings to exchange expertise and explore potential partnerships, according to the announcement.
