Egyptian companies Telecom Wadi, Power Wadi and Bio Wadi showcased medical devices and industrial technology solutions during a roundtable with Industry Minister Khaled Hashem, Startup Egypt and representatives of 21 startups working in manufacturing technology, robotics and medical technology.
The companies presented products including routers, uninterruptible power supply systems, monitoring devices, medical suction machines, medical headphones, inverters, solar energy systems and other medical and power equipment.
According to the announcement, Hashem expressed interest in the products and new ideas in electronic manufacturing and medical devices. He said the ministry is prioritising the adoption and local production of industrial technologies, while helping startups and smaller manufacturers enter the industrial sector and expand into exports.
The ministry’s support measures include facilitating access to industrial land, lease-to-own arrangements, financing options, and technical support and advisory services through the Industrial Modernisation Centre. Hashem also encouraged startups to use local supplier matchmaking services to strengthen domestic supply chains.
Mustafa El Wakeel, chairman of Wadi Holding Group, which owns the three companies, said the group is expanding manufacturing capabilities and investing in factories and talent. The companies aim to increase local content and develop products for Egypt’s telecommunications, energy and healthcare sectors, according to the announcement.
