Tunisia took part in the 14th edition of Maker Faire Rome – The European Edition, held in Rome from October 23 to 25, with 11 Tunisian startups presenting their technologies and projects.
The startups participated through Lab Innova for Africa, an Italian Trade Agency programme that provides technical and management training to African startups and small and medium-sized companies. Launched in 2019, the programme also aims to support access to European markets and encourage technology transfer and partnerships with Italian companies.
The Tunisian startups showcased projects spanning artificial intelligence, robotics, agricultural technologies, industry and healthcare. The event featured more than 400 booths at Rome’s Gazometro Ostiense complex, covering robotics and AI, electronics, digital manufacturing, sustainability and the circular economy.
According to a statement from Tunisia’s embassy in Rome, the embassy’s chargé d’affaires met participating companies and highlighted the role of international events in promoting Tunisian innovation. The meetings also focused on creating opportunities for partnerships and investment with Italian and European stakeholders.
