Meta has launched Style Sketch, an AI fashion app that helps users create outfit ideas from clothes they already own.
The app can build a virtual wardrobe using photos shared on Instagram. Users can also add items manually by taking a photo, recording a short video or uploading images from their camera roll.
Style Sketch then suggests outfit combinations and lets users preview them on a virtual model matched to their body shape and skin tone, according to the app description. Users can also select a specific clothing item for new styling ideas.
The app supports trip planning as well. By entering a destination, trip length and planned activities, users can receive a day-by-day outfit plan that considers the weather forecast and itinerary.
Style Sketch is currently available on iOS and Android in Indonesia, Singapore and Thailand. It was first spotted by social media consultant Matt Navarra. Meta has not said whether it plans to expand the app to other markets.
The launch adds to Meta’s recent rollout of AI-focused apps, including Waddle World, Pocket and Vibes. Style Sketch enters a growing category that already includes tools for digitising wardrobes and visualising outfits, but its integration with Instagram could give it a built-in source of users’ style data.
