Egypt has opened the third edition of the Global Entrepreneurship Festival (GEF Egypt 2026), bringing together investors, entrepreneurs and innovation leaders from around the world.
The three-day event is being held in Cairo under the theme “The World We Help to Create,” with more than 10,000 participants expected from over 70 countries. The festival aims to connect startups and innovative projects with investment funds and financing networks, while creating opportunities for cross-border partnerships and expansion.
Speaking at the opening on behalf of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, Egypt’s minister of planning and economic development said entrepreneurship and startups are key drivers of structural transformation. The minister highlighted manufacturing, artificial intelligence and advanced technologies, green industries, fintech and logistics as national priorities.
The government also aims to help Egyptian founders build competitive companies, attract investment, develop intellectual property and create skilled jobs. It plans to support expansion into African, regional and international markets, according to the announcement.
