Egypt’s Ministry of Communications and Information Technology is targeting 200,000 new jobs and the development of 250 artificial intelligence-driven startups by 2030, according to an announcement by Minister Raafat Hindi at the Cairo International Technology Fair.

The plan also aims to increase Egypt’s digital exports to $12B by 2030, maintain annual sector growth of 16% to 19%, and raise the communications and information technology sector’s contribution to 8% of GDP.

Other targets include manufacturing 30 million mobile devices in Egypt, exporting 30% of that output, and attracting between five and seven data centers focused on AI applications.

The ministry said it is also working to expand training and employment in emerging technology fields, support startups, and promote the use of AI across economic activities to strengthen Egypt’s competitiveness and export potential.
