Algiers will host the fifth African Startup Conference from December 5 to 7, 2026, bringing together policymakers, investors, technology leaders and startups from across the continent.
The event, held at the International Conference Center (CIC), will focus on “DeepTech: The Real Challenge.” According to the announcement, the conference aims to accelerate innovation, strengthen Africa’s technological sovereignty and create new opportunities for startups and technology companies.
Noureddine Ouadah, Algeria’s Minister of Knowledge Economy, Startups and Micro-Enterprises, presented the conference highlights during a press conference in Algiers on November 7. The event was attended by national and international media, as well as Gaspard Banyankimbona, the African Union Commissioner for Education, Science, Technology and Innovation.
Ouadah also welcomed the African Union Executive Council’s adoption of the Algiers Declaration on the Development of Startups in Africa, which builds on the momentum of the previous conference edition.
