The Faculty of Economics and Political Science (FEPS) at Alexandria University has concluded its fourth Employment Forum, this year placing a direct focus on entrepreneurship to equip its students and graduates for Egypt’s evolving business environment. The event underscores a growing commitment within Egyptian academia to foster a startup culture from the ground up.
Quick Facts
- Event: 4th Employment Forum, Entrepreneurship Edition.
- Attendance: Over 950 students and graduates participated.
- Competition: 26 early-stage ideas pitched to a judging panel.
A Two-Track Approach to Nurturing Talent
The forum was structured along two parallel tracks to cater to attendees at different stages of their entrepreneurial journey. The first track featured a startup competition where 26 teams with developed ideas presented their projects to a specialized jury, culminating in the announcement of four winners.
The second track was designed for students and alumni who are still exploring ideas or are new to the startup world. This educational track ran from morning to evening, offering a series of panel discussions, workshops, and lectures. Sessions were led by a mix of university experts and external industry specialists, covering practical aspects of building a business.
Fostering Egypt’s Next Wave of Founders
The significant turnout, with more than 950 students in attendance, highlights a rising interest in entrepreneurship among university youth in Egypt. The forum served as a critical platform connecting student ambition with professional experience and mentorship.
In a statement, the faculty extended its appreciation to all speakers, sponsors, and organizers who contributed to the event’s success and congratulated the winning students from the startup competition.
