Accelerating Omani SMEs with ‘Alizz Business’

Building on the success of its first cohort which supported eight SMEs, the bank announced the second edition of the “Alizz Business” development program. In partnership with Sharakah, the initiative will provide 15 selected Omani SMEs with a comprehensive, year-long program to enhance their operational capabilities and accelerate growth. An additional 300 SMEs across Oman will also benefit from specialized workshops and training sessions. The program underscores the bank’s focus on the SME sector as a key driver for economic diversification and job creation.

Fostering a Creative Economy Through ‘Alizz Ebdaa’

To support the nation’s creative talent, the bank introduced “Alizz Ebdaa,” a new initiative targeting young Omani designers. The program will offer one-year professional contracts to five promising designers, who will provide creative services to Alizz Islamic Bank, Ominvest Group companies, and the SMEs participating in the “Alizz Business” program. This initiative aims to provide tangible career opportunities for local talent and foster innovation within the Omani business community.

Building Knowledge with ‘Alizz Ma’rifa’

The event also saw the launch of “Alizz Ma’rifa,” the bank’s new educational arm focused on continuous learning. Through this platform, experts from the bank and its local and international partners will deliver specialized sessions on topics including leadership, financial management, cybersecurity, and change management. The initiative is designed to build capabilities within the community and prepare the next generation of leaders for Oman’s Islamic banking industry.

Empowering the Next Generation

Alizz Islamic Bank also revealed several youth-focused collaborations. A new partnership with INJAZ Oman will launch a summer program for 200 students with disabilities, focusing on self-development and workplace readiness skills. This follows a previous collaboration that provided financial literacy training to over 1,000 students.

The bank is also extending its support for the education sector by partnering with Dar Al Atta’a to develop a school in Al Hamra that serves more than 20 surrounding villages. Additionally, the fourth batch of the “Manahil Alizz” training program was announced, offering university students practical work experience to bridge the gap between academic studies and market demands.

Ali Al Mani, CEO of Alizz Islamic Bank, commented, “We believe our success is measured not only by financial results but also by the positive impact we leave on society. Through ‘Alizz Attaa,’ we renew our commitment to investing in Omani citizens, supporting entrepreneurs, and empowering youth. These initiatives are a practical translation of our belief that sustainable development is achieved when institutions and society work together to create real opportunities and lasting impact.”
