ASB Capital has launched the ASB Liquidity Fund, a Shari’a-compliant money market fund focused on capital preservation, daily liquidity, low volatility and risk-adjusted returns.
The fund invests in a diversified portfolio of short-term deposits and debentures issued by governments, government entities, banks and other eligible issuers across the GCC and wider MENA markets. ASB Capital, which manages $10.2 billion in assets, said the portfolio will be actively managed to maintain liquidity and limit volatility.
The fund is designed for institutions, businesses and private investors managing short-term cash. Instead of requiring investors to monitor rates, manage durations and handle reinvestments across multiple deposits, it brings those activities into a single managed portfolio.
Rafik Nayed, managing director of ASB Capital, said the launch expands the firm’s investment platform across different risk and liquidity needs, alongside its public and private market capabilities.
Hussain Abdulhaq, chief treasury officer of Al Salam Bank, said the fund combines active management, diversification and daily access to help investors manage cash while preserving liquidity and capital.
