AUC Venture Lab has been named Accelerator Champion of the Year at the fifth Africa Startup Ecosystem Builders Summit & Awards, held in Johannesburg, according to an announcement from the Egyptian university-based accelerator.
The awards attracted nearly 2,000 nominations from across Africa. Finalists went through an expert judging panel before a public vote.
AUC Venture Lab, established in 2013 as Egypt’s first university-based accelerator, said the recognition reflects its work supporting startups from idea to launch and growth. The accelerator credited its founders, mentors, sponsors, partners and team for the award.
