Dubai Future Foundation (DFF) and autonomous vehicle technology company Oxa have launched SHIFFT, a joint venture focused on developing and commercializing autonomous logistics technologies in Dubai.
The venture will operate the Autonomous Logistics Future Lab under Dubai’s Research, Development and Innovation Ecosystem. It will develop, test and validate autonomous logistics solutions designed to improve productivity, operational resilience and economic value across the sector.
SHIFFT’s first phase will target autonomous vehicle deployments at ports and airports, with the partners aiming for the first commercial deployment in Dubai before the end of 2027.
The initiative will combine autonomous driving software with worksite data collection, analytics and operational intelligence to support end-to-end autonomous logistics operations. Its technology stack will include configurable autonomy software, cloud-based fleet management systems and specialized hardware that can be integrated with existing industrial vehicles and equipment.
According to the announcement, the partnership supports the Dubai Economic Agenda (D33), which aims to double the emirate’s foreign trade by 2033. DFF said SHIFFT is intended to accelerate the adoption of intelligent logistics technologies and create new economic opportunities.
