  • Program now supports 36 ventures in Egypt.
  • Focus on AI, healthcare, inclusion, and employability.

Building an Ecosystem Beyond Funding

The fellowship is designed to provide startups with institutional and financial support, specialized mentorship, and access to learning science expertise. The goal is to help these companies scale their solutions and build sustainable business models in a market where access to quality education remains a significant hurdle.

“We believe at EdVentures that education development cannot be achieved through technology alone, but through building strong partnerships that combine expertise, resources, and a shared vision to create sustainable impact,” said Dalia Ibrahim, Founder and CEO of EdVentures.

“With the launch of the third cohort, we are proud to continue supporting a growing network of founders who are developing solutions that enhance learning, improve employability, and support the economic participation of young people.”

Tackling Inclusion and Employability

The latest cohort reflects a growing trend in EdTech, moving beyond traditional e-learning to address specific societal needs. Several selected startups focus on challenges faced by underserved communities, women, and persons with disabilities. Others are centered on equipping learners with future-ready skills to improve their career prospects and connect them with employment opportunities.

“The Mastercard Foundation EdTech Fellowship represents a platform that brings together innovation in education, technology designed to expand access to learning, and support for the EdTech entrepreneurship ecosystem in Africa,” commented Wariko Waita, Director of the Centre for Innovative Teaching and Learning at the Mastercard Foundation.

Waita added that the program empowers entrepreneurs who are developing solutions that address real education challenges and contribute to a more inclusive future for education in Egypt and across the continent.
