Egypt’s Innovation and Giftedness Welfare Fund has announced a long-term plan to support innovation, prepare students and graduates for entrepreneurship, and connect university research with industry and the labor market.

According to the announcement, the plan will help identify promising ideas, develop them into practical applications, and support students and graduates in building technology- and knowledge-based startups. It will also strengthen coordination among employment centers, entrepreneurship units, technology transfer offices, incubators, and innovation clubs.

The roadmap includes the “We Hear You” initiative for identifying ideas, linking national and industrial challenges to Egypt’s university hackathons, and supporting 1,000 innovative graduation projects. It also includes prototype development, testing, and access to open laboratories.

The fund plans to expand its “Be Ready” initiative to provide training in management, operations, finance, marketing, business development, and other professional skills needed to work in or launch startups.

Another program, the Early Co-Founders Program, will connect final-year students and recent graduates with research projects, technical teams, and startups that need stronger commercial and administrative capabilities. The goal is to help build complete founding teams and move innovative solutions closer to the market.
