Oman’s Authority for Small and Medium Enterprises Development, known as Riyada, has opened two projects in Al Dhahirah Governorate: a handicraft entrepreneurship centre in Dhank and the Omani Craft House at Ibri Yard in Ibri.
The Dhank centre is designed to support artisans through dedicated training, production and innovation facilities. It covers crafts linked to Omani cultural identity, including palm-leaf products, textiles, tulle embroidery and tailoring.
The Omani Craft House will serve as a specialised platform for displaying and selling locally made handicrafts. Located at Ibri Yard, the venue is intended to connect artisans and entrepreneurs with commercial and tourism activity while increasing the economic value of their products.
The projects form part of Riyada’s efforts to strengthen the handicrafts ecosystem by connecting training, production and marketing, according to the announcement.
The authority is also implementing a training programme covering basic tailoring and entrepreneurship. The programme aims to equip participants with technical and business skills to establish and manage their own ventures, supporting self-employment and the sustainability of small and medium-sized enterprises.
