Tunisia’s digital innovation hub The Dot marked its fifth anniversary on October 23, highlighting its role in bringing together startups, entrepreneurs, investors, support organisations and public and private-sector partners.

Founded in 2021 with support from Tunisia’s Ministry of Communication Technologies, Expertise France, German cooperation and the Tunisia Development Foundation, and funded by the European Union, The Dot provides a space for collaboration, entrepreneurship support and digital innovation.

According to the announcement, the centre has supported more than 500 startups, including 37 founded by Tunisians living abroad. Its Tech216 initiative includes around 130 international companies, while the centre hosts 140 startups from 10 Tunisian governorates. It has also organised or hosted more than 3,000 events and launched six entrepreneurship and innovation support programmes.

The anniversary programme included an official ceremony with institutional representatives and ambassadors, followed by a community gathering for partners, entrepreneurs and programme alumni.

Badr Eddine Ouali, president of the Tunisia Development Foundation and co-founder of The Dot, said the centre aims to extend its reach beyond Tunis by strengthening ties with ELIFE centres in other regions. The goal, he added, is to help young people across Tunisia access opportunities, develop their skills and turn ideas into projects.
