Egypt’s iSchool Acquires Software Firm Rubikal to Build AI Infrastructure for Schools

iSchool, an Egyptian company focused on coding and AI education for the next generation, has announced its full acquisition of the software engineering firm Rubikal. The deal formalizes a long-standing partnership and brings Rubikal’s technical team and leadership fully into the iSchool fold to accelerate its technology development.

From Partnership to Integration

This acquisition is more than a simple transaction; it’s the culmination of a three-year engineering collaboration. During this period, Rubikal served as the core technical arm for iSchool, instrumental in building and scaling its educational platforms. The move shifts the relationship from a partnership to a fully integrated operation.

Mohamed Gawish, Co-founder and CEO of iSchool, noted that the synergy between the two teams was clear from the beginning. He explained that the acquisition will unify their capabilities to build the AI infrastructure needed for the schools of the future.

New Leadership and Engineering Muscle

As part of the integration, Rubikal’s engineering team and leadership will be absorbed into iSchool. Co-founder of Rubikal, Eng. Mohamed Ibrahim, will step into the role of Chief Technology Officer (CTO). Eng. Mostafa Badawy, Rubikal’s other co-founder, will become the Vice President of Software Engineering.

The acquisition also adds a team of 21 software engineers to iSchool’s technology division. Rubikal brings significant global experience to the table, having previously developed advanced tech solutions for major international companies like Disney, Discovery, and Roadtrip Nation.

Mohamed Ibrahim, the new CTO of iSchool, framed the deal as a strategic evolution. He described the move as a transition from “building products to creating a fully integrated ecosystem that combines deep technical expertise with a clear educational vision.”
