Qatar-based data centre operator MEEZA has signed a QR1 billion long-term agreement with an unnamed global hyperscaler to provide 8 megawatts of operational capacity.
The contract is the largest in MEEZA’s history and will support cloud and artificial intelligence workloads. The company said the new capacity will provide scalable, secure and resilient infrastructure for a major cloud service provider.
MEEZA did not disclose the hyperscaler’s identity, contract duration, pricing structure, delivery schedule or the location of the planned capacity. It also has not confirmed whether the 8MW will be delivered in one phase or across several stages.
CEO Mohammed Ali al-Ghaithani said the agreement reflects rising demand for MEEZA’s data centre infrastructure. He added that the company remains on track to quadruple its current data centre capacity.
The expansion is aligned with Qatar National Vision 2030 and the Qatar Digital Agenda 2030, as the country seeks to strengthen its role in regional cloud and digital infrastructure. MEEZA said the campus will be designed to support growing cloud and AI requirements.
The deal gives MEEZA a significant long-term customer commitment as it expands capacity, although key execution details, including the site, technical specifications and delivery timeline, remain undisclosed.
