Egypt’s Monufia University has concluded its first Entrepreneurship World Cup, awarding a total of EGP115,000 to winning student projects across artificial intelligence, energy and social creativity.
The competition attracted 225 projects, with 80 advancing through the initial screening and evaluation stages. The university said the initiative was designed to help students develop ideas into viable projects through training, competition, incubation and further development.
Youssef Osama Saleh’s SAPJO won first place and the gold prize in the artificial intelligence category, receiving EGP30,000. REVERTA took the top spot in the energy category with an EGP20,000 award, while Yasmin Mohamed El-Wakil’s “A Touch of My Design” won the social creativity category with EGP20,000.
The event was organised with support from university departments, the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency, the Innovators and Geniuses Welfare Fund, the university’s technology business incubator and its innovation centre.
Preparations included the “Pioneering Journey” camp, which ran across seven university faculties to promote entrepreneurship and encourage students to submit projects. The university also recognised members of the judging and organising committees, as well as sponsors and supporters.
