NAMA for the Advancement of Women will hold four workshops from September 14 to 17 to introduce women to production and entrepreneurship opportunities in the agricultural sector.
The workshops, part of the Agricultural Entrepreneurship Programme 2026, will take place in Kalba, Sharjah, Al Dhaid and Al Hamriyah. Each one-day session will target women aged 18 and above, with around 50 participants at each location.
According to the announcement, the sessions will combine classroom discussions with practical activities focused on agriculture and garden care. Participants will also learn about sustainable farming practices and ways to develop an interest in agriculture into a productive activity or a business opportunity.
Maryam Al Hammadi, director general of NAMA, said the programme is designed to give women the knowledge, skills and tools needed to identify suitable economic opportunities and build activities that can grow over time.
The programme will continue with more specialised training. The first level, focused on agricultural entrepreneurship fundamentals, will run in Kalba for 11 days in October and cover the establishment and management of agricultural businesses. Eligible graduates can then join a nine-day hydroponics programme in Al Dhaid in November, covering soilless farming, crop management, nutrient solutions, greenhouses and sustainable production.
