Saudi logistics company SAL has launched CargoGate, a digital platform developed in partnership with Elm to manage cargo handling and delivery processes across SAL stations in the Kingdom.

Introduced during LEAP 2026 in Riyadh, the platform brings shipment documentation, pickup appointments, vehicle and driver management, tracking, invoicing and payments into one interface. It is designed to reduce reliance on paper-based procedures and improve the movement of shipments and vehicles through stations.

According to the company, CargoGate’s pilot achieved a 92% success rate at SAL stations in Riyadh, Jeddah, Dammam and Madinah. SAL also said digital initiatives linked to the platform reduced average waiting times by 80%, based on figures in its annual report.

The platform serves importers, express courier operators, customs brokers, freight agents and carriers. Customers can pay through credit cards, Apple Pay or the CargoGate wallet, while receiving electronic invoices and delivery notifications.

The launch comes as SAL expands its cargo handling and logistics operations. In the first half of 2026, its cargo ground-handling revenue reached SAR 823 million, up 24% from the same period in 2025, while logistics services generated SAR 135 million.
