Fostering an Ecosystem for Sustainable Impact

The week-long program featured 9 panel discussions and 46 entrepreneurial meetings focused on critical topics for social ventures. Discussions centered on identifying social investment opportunities, building sustainable business models, and leveraging partnerships to amplify the developmental impact of social enterprises.

Key themes included structuring projects for lasting impact, empowering social enterprises for growth, and enhancing integration between the public and non-profit sectors to support development initiatives across the Kingdom.

Leaders Champion Blending Profit with Purpose

During a panel discussion, Eng. Mansour bin Hilal Al-Mushaiti, Deputy Minister of Environment, Water, and Agriculture, highlighted the promising growth opportunities in social entrepreneurship. He identified passion, a strong team, a viable business model, a solid idea, and funding as the most important success factors for a social entrepreneur, noting that the environment, water, and agriculture sectors offer significant opportunities for innovators.

Prince Fahd bin Mansour bin Nasser bin Abdulaziz, Founder and Chairman of the Riyadah Vision Society, explained that the social entrepreneurship sector uniquely combines financial returns with sustainable social and developmental impact. He emphasized that the Kingdom’s deep-rooted culture of giving and volunteerism provides a strong foundation for the sector’s growth, creating opportunities to direct resources toward projects with both economic and social value.

From Capacity Building to Investor Connections

Princess Nouf bint Mohammed bin Abdullah, CEO of the King Khalid Foundation, stressed that successful social projects begin with a deep understanding of genuine community needs and designing solutions that are both applicable and scalable. She noted the critical need for entrepreneurs to receive empowerment, capacity building, mentorship, and connections to the right partners and investors at various growth stages.

She pointed to the King Khalid Foundation’s “Capacity Building” program, which supports non-profit organizations through training and consulting to enhance their long-term impact. Additionally, its “Social Investment Program” aims to create positive social change by helping social enterprises plan and budget their projects while facilitating access to support entities.

Aligning Social Ventures with Vision 2030

Salman Al-Khattaf, Director General of Decision Support at the Quality of Life Program Center, discussed the role of social entrepreneurship in improving quality of life. He emphasized how innovative initiatives that address societal challenges can increase community participation and drive progress.

The event is part of Monsha’at’s broader efforts to cultivate the social entrepreneurship ecosystem, enabling impact-driven enterprises to access investment, partnerships, and support programs. This strategy directly contributes to strengthening the sustainability of social enterprises and increasing the non-profit sector’s contribution to economic and social development, in line with the goals of Saudi Vision 2030.
