stc pay Bahrain has partnered with PayPal to launch a cross-border fund transfer service, allowing users to send money internationally through the digital wallet.
The service connects PayPal’s global payments network with stc pay Bahrain’s platform. According to the announcement, the partnership aims to make international transfers more convenient and improve access to global payment services for consumers and businesses.
The launch adds cross-border capabilities to stc pay Bahrain’s digital financial offering, which also supports the broader adoption of mobile-first payments in Bahrain. The company said the collaboration will strengthen the country’s digital payments ecosystem and support its ambitions to expand as a regional fintech hub.
The partnership reflects a wider shift among regional fintech providers, which are working with established global payment networks rather than building international settlement infrastructure independently. Digital wallets are increasingly expanding beyond everyday payments to include remittances, merchant services, savings and international transfers.
For Bahrain, the service adds another link between its digital financial ecosystem and international payment infrastructure, supporting users who need to move money across borders.
