Syrian healthtech startup Moadna, a digital platform for clinic management and appointment booking, has raised $50,000 in early-stage funding from a group of angel investors. The investment pushes the company’s valuation to $300,000 as it prepares for its next growth phase.

Addressing a Gap in Syrian Healthcare

Founded by Tarek Skheta and Maged Hamdeh, Moadna provides an integrated platform for medical facilities in Syria. It enables clinics and medical centres to manage key operations, including appointments, patient records, medical visits, billing, revenues, and expenses. For patients, it offers a simple interface for digital booking and communication with healthcare providers.

Early Traction and Market Adoption

The startup has demonstrated significant early growth within the Syrian market. Moadna currently serves more than 550 doctors, clinics, and medical centres. The platform has also attracted a user base of over 8,000 individuals, who have collectively booked more than 3,500 appointments to date, showing a clear demand for its services.

Fueling Product Development and Expansion

The new capital will be used to enhance Moadna’s product, strengthen its technology infrastructure, and scale up its commercial operations. This funding serves as a bridge to a planned pre-seed round, which will support the company’s expansion goals within Syria and eventual entry into other regional markets. Moadna was previously a participant in Thimar, a support programme for Syrian startups.
