The UAE Cyber Security Council has announced a partnership with Abu Dhabi-based QuantumGate to roll out the national Crypto Discovery Tool (CDT). The locally-built solution is designed to prepare the country’s critical infrastructure for security threats posed by quantum computing by automating the discovery and management of cryptographic assets.

Mapping the Nation’s Cryptographic Landscape
The CDT initiative marks a key step in the UAE’s cybersecurity roadmap, placing it among the first countries to operationalize a coordinated, large-scale migration strategy for a post-quantum world. The tool provides organizations with a detailed map of cryptographic assets across their digital environments, automating the discovery process to identify potential risks. This foundational visibility is critical for managing vulnerabilities and planning a structured transition to more robust, quantum-resilient encryption.
His Excellency Dr. Mohamed Al-Kuwaiti, Head of Cyber Security for the UAE Government, said: “Our partnership with QuantumGate on the national Crypto Discovery Tool marks a critical step forward in strengthening the UAE’s national cybersecurity posture in the face of emerging quantum threats. As we advance our National Post-Quantum Migration Program, having sovereign capability to discover, assess, and manage cryptographic assets across sectors is essential.”
From Visibility to Actionable Migration
Beyond discovery, the CDT is built to help organizations execute their transition plans. As part of the UAE National Post-Quantum Migration Programme, the tool will be used by critical public and private sector entities to identify vulnerabilities and guide the migration to post-quantum cryptography standards. The system is designed to handle discovery and inventory at scale across complex digital infrastructures.

Powering a National PQC Index
The tool also introduces continuous monitoring, enabling organizations to maintain real-time oversight of their cryptographic assets and ensure ongoing compliance with new directives. Data from the CDT will feed directly into the UAE’s National Cybersecurity Index platform, creating a UAE National PQC (Post-Quantum Cryptography) Index. This will give the Cyber Security Council a comprehensive, unified view of the country’s cryptographic posture and readiness, supporting more informed, strategic decision-making at a national level.
