Abu Dhabi-based advanced technology group EDGE has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with France’s ICAPE Group to explore the joint development and localization of a supply chain for critical electronic subsystems within the UAE. The agreement was announced at the Make it in the Emirates (MIITE 2026) forum.

Quick Facts

  • MoU signed at MIITE 2026 event.
  • Focuses on localizing electronic subsystem supply.
  • Builds on an existing commercial partnership.
  • Aims to embed ICAPE’s expertise in UAE manufacturing.

Strengthening Sovereign Capabilities

The agreement formalizes an existing commercial relationship, creating a framework to embed ICAPE Group’s expertise in Printed Circuit Boards (PCBs), turnkey solutions, and custom electronic components directly into EDGE’s in-country manufacturing operations. This move addresses a strategic priority for EDGE, as demand for these components across its growing product portfolio is expected to rise significantly. By establishing a localized and resilient supply chain, EDGE aims to bolster the UAE’s sovereign capabilities in the advanced technology and defense sectors.

Hamad Al Marar, Managing Director and CEO of EDGE Group, commented on the partnership, “We are deliberate about the partnerships we build. ICAPE Group brings recognised global expertise in PCBs, turnkey solutions and electronic components, and this MoU sets out our joint ambition to take that relationship to a new level, with local development and supply as the end goal.”

A Global Partnership for Local Growth

ICAPE Group, a global expert in the supply of PCBs and custom electronic parts, brings decades of experience to the collaboration. The partnership allows ICAPE to support one of the world’s fastest-growing defense and technology conglomerates while establishing a stronger foothold in the region.

“As CEO of ICAPE Group, I am proud of this agreement with EDGE Group that will pave the way for future potential partnerships across ICAPE Group’s areas of expertise,” stated Yann Duigou, CEO of ICAPE Group. “We are bringing our strong commitment to high quality and high delivery at the service of a leading and fast-growing group, also one of the most advanced and major defence players worldwide.”
