Egyptian Artists Expand Into Eyewear, Restaurants and Real Estate

Several Egyptian artists are turning their earnings and personal interests into businesses, ranging from eyewear and fashion to restaurants, real estate and horse breeding.

Ahmed Fahmy recently launched a sunglasses brand, promoting it on social media and preparing to open dedicated branches. He said his interest in eyewear and experience collecting different styles led him to pursue the business.

Ahmed Helmy has also entered the eyewear market, offering medical and sunglasses. He plans to expand into accessories and launch a fashion line under his name. Mai Ezz El Din has launched a summer-focused business selling swimwear and products for women, including a section for hijab-wearing customers, with possible expansion into beauty and fashion.

Amr Diab has invested in real estate and hospitality, including projects in Egypt’s North Coast and ventures outside the country. He has also launched a fragrance brand. Ashraf Abdel Baki and Hala Sedky have opened restaurants, while Mostafa Amar operates a restaurant and café that combines dining with live rock music performances.

Actors Ahmed El Sakka and Mostafa Shaaban, along with singer Hakim, have invested in horse breeding, owning farms for Arabian horses and taking part in international competitions, according to the report.
