The Bahrain Institute of Banking and Finance (BIBF) has launched an AI Academy to help individuals and organisations build practical skills for using artificial intelligence responsibly at work.
The academy will serve professionals across sectors including financial services, insurance, human resources, marketing, operations, risk management and leadership. Its offerings range from AI fundamentals and business applications to advanced courses, professional certifications, executive education and customised corporate training.
According to BIBF, the academy builds on more than 3,000 participants trained through over 45 AI-related programmes since 2022. The new platform brings those programmes under one structure for learners with different levels of experience and for organisations seeking tailored training.
The curriculum will include practical use cases, applied tools and hands-on exercises, alongside topics such as AI governance, risk management, ethics, transparency and trust in intelligent systems.
BIBF Chief Executive Officer Dr Ahmed Al Shaikh said the academy is intended to meet the changing needs of Bahrain’s labour market, while Afnan AlSaleh, acting head of BIBF’s Centre for Digital Transformation and Project Management, said its flexible approach is designed to help organisations apply AI and lead related transformation.
