The Saudi Central Bank, known as SAMA, has granted Hemma Financing Platform an official license to conduct debt crowdfunding activities in Saudi Arabia.

The license brings the total number of financing companies licensed in the Kingdom to 78, according to the central bank. SAMA said the move supports the development of the financing sector, expands access to modern funding solutions and encourages innovation in financial services.

Debt crowdfunding platforms connect investors with individuals and businesses seeking financing through regulated digital channels. The activity has continued to expand in Saudi Arabia as demand grows for digital financing solutions, including among small and medium-sized enterprises, the announcement said.

SAMA added that the new license supports its financial inclusion objectives by broadening the range of available financial services. It also urged individuals and businesses to deal only with licensed and authorized financing institutions, with verification available through the central bank’s official website.

The licensing decision reflects SAMA’s continued focus on developing the Kingdom’s financial sector while balancing fintech innovation with regulatory oversight and financial stability.
