Mastercard and Trip.com Test AI-Powered Travel Booking with Network International

1 Min Read

Mastercard and Trip.com are testing an AI-powered travel booking experience that allows users to search, book and complete purchases through Trip.com’s AI agent, TripGenie.

The collaboration uses Mastercard’s Agent Suite for Merchants and is being developed in partnership with Network International, combining Trip.com’s travel platform with Mastercard’s payments infrastructure and Network International’s acquiring capabilities.

The system is designed to support agentic commerce, where AI agents can help users discover products, compare options and complete authorised purchases directly within digital commerce environments.

For travel bookings, the partners are exploring how TripGenie can support the full journey from discovery and planning through to booking and payment, while allowing merchants to retain control over the customer experience.

The solution is expected to initially support selected travel services, including attractions and ancillary offerings. TripGenie is being showcased at Arabian Travel Market, with a phased rollout and commercial launch expected in early 2027.

Mastercard’s Agent Suite for Merchants is available through Mastercard Merchant Cloud and gives businesses access to capabilities including fraud protection, authentication, tokenisation, data services and partner integrations.
