Egypt’s Leadership Preparation Institute has brought together more than 1,000 students from public, private, national and technological universities for a forum focused on creativity, innovation and entrepreneurship.

The gathering forms part of the student dialogue sessions preparing for Egypt Forum 2026, themed “A Look at Today, a Vision for Tomorrow,” and is aligned with the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research’s efforts to involve young people in national development discussions.

The first day featured a session on innovation and entrepreneurship in higher education. Discussions covered ways to identify student innovators, support their ideas and turn university research and graduation projects into practical solutions linked to national priorities.

Participants also examined the role of the Innovators and Geniuses Welfare Fund, established under a 2019 law, in helping innovators develop their capabilities and move from ideas to viable projects. The discussions stressed that support should include identifying, assessing and guiding ideas, not only providing funding.

Students took part in an interactive discussion on expanding access to innovation programs, competitions, hackathons and specialized support, with particular attention to students at technological universities. The session also explored cooperation between government entities, universities and startups.

The forum focuses on one of seven preparation tracks for Egypt Forum 2026 and will continue through dialogue sessions, meetings and visits designed to support student participation and exchange of ideas.
