Omani women entrepreneurs should turn expanding business opportunities into sustainable enterprises, while social initiatives need to show measurable results to secure long-term support, HH Sayyida Hujaija bint Jaifer al Said said at a Startup Grind Muscat discussion.
Speaking at a special Omani Women’s Day gathering, she highlighted initiative, partnerships and financial sustainability as key foundations for businesses and community organisations. She also encouraged women to identify challenges, develop solutions and make focused use of the growing number of support programmes and networks available to them.
The discussion stressed that participation in initiatives should lead to clear business outcomes and ownership. For social enterprises, success should be measured not only by the number of programmes, participants or partnerships, but by tangible improvements in beneficiaries’ lives.
Drawing on her work with the Association for the Welfare of Handicapped Children, HH Sayyida Hujaija pointed to vocational rehabilitation, occupational therapy and physiotherapy as services that require sustained resources and institutional commitment.
Participants also discussed endowments and revenue-generating assets as potential complements to donations, sponsorships and fundraising. The aim is to build more resilient income streams for long-term services.
HH Sayyida Hujaija further urged entrepreneurs to explore GCC and international markets through strong relationships, customer understanding, consistent quality and growth-oriented partnerships.
Organised by Startup Grind Muscat with Kaleem Café, the event brought together entrepreneurs, professionals and community representatives. Khimji Ramdas supported it as official gifting partner.
