Egypt-based private equity firm B Investments Holding has approved a proposed acquisition of a 53.5% stake in BIG Investment Group Ltd., according to a disclosure submitted to the Egyptian Exchange.
BIG Investment Group holds a 20.4% stake in Madinet Masr for Housing and Development. The transaction would make B Investments the majority owner of BIG, with BIG shareholders receiving newly issued B Investments shares instead of a cash payment.
B Investments’ board approved the proposal at a September 15, 2026 meeting. The company did not disclose the transaction’s financial value.
The board authorized the appointment of an independent financial advisor registered with the Financial Regulatory Authority if required. It also approved a disclosure report under Article 48 of the Listing Rules and authorized the calling of an Extraordinary General Meeting, subject to FRA approval.
Separately, B Investments’ board authorized a meeting to consider waiving the company’s preemptive right to subscribe to a capital increase at B Ventures for Research and Services, a subsidiary.
The acquisition remains subject to FRA approval and shareholder approval at the Extraordinary General Meeting. Its completion would also increase B Investments’ share capital.
