BuildPalestine has released its 2025 Impact Report, providing a comprehensive look at the organization’s efforts to empower local changemakers amidst ongoing regional crises. Founded in 2016, the organization serves as a critical support hub for Palestinian social enterprises, focusing on capacity building, networking, and liberating funding sources to protect local agency. The report, visually themed around artwork from the Rommana children’s center in the West Bank, emphasizes “Sumud”—defined as the active, intentional continuation of building for a liberated future today.
Strengthening the Social Enterprise Ecosystem
BuildPalestine operates through a structured value chain designed to transition passion-driven projects into sustainable, impact-focused ventures. The organization provides a mix of financial resources, business development expertise, and international market connections to ensure that Palestinian-led solutions can thrive under extreme constraints.
The BuildPalestine Fellowship Programs
The fellowship is divided into two primary stages to support various growth levels:
- The Root Program: A six-month foundational journey for early-stage ventures. In 2025, the program received a record 222 applications, selecting seven graduates from locations including Jerusalem, Ramallah, Hebron, and the 1948 territories.
- The Rise Program: A six-month acceleration stage for high-potential Root graduates. This program provides tailored technical support and grants ranging from €5,000 to €30,000 to enhance revenue and community impact.
Mobilizing Solidarity Through Nourishing Hope for Gaza
The Nourishing Hope for Gaza (NH4G) initiative represents BuildPalestine’s sustained commitment to decentralized solidarity. In 2025, the program raised $32,665 USD through five campaigns to support Gazan-led initiatives focused on education, humanitarian relief for the Deaf community, and youth theater. The initiative also launched a “Champions Network,” which grew to 65 active supporters dedicated to amplifying grassroots fundraising and advocacy power.
Innovation and Reclaiming Funding Sources
Despite regional challenges, BuildPalestine continues to pilot creative methodologies like the “Falafel Theory Innovation Program”. This program reframes design thinking into a local context, resulting in winning projects such as first-responder training for displaced families and rooftop gardening initiatives in Gaza.
Parallel to these programs, the organization is working toward systemic change in how Palestinian initiatives are funded. BuildPalestine successfully advocated for legal changes allowing local organizations to use national payment gateways for digital donations, reducing reliance on external intermediaries.
Financial Snapshot and Strategic Growth
In 2025, BuildPalestine recorded a total income of $456,246, a 90.19% increase from the previous year. This growth was fueled by a strategic shift toward a member-backed model and expanded service-based offerings.
- Expenditure Allocation: 78.31% of the $347,326 total expenditure was invested directly into programs.
- Direct Grants: $97,841 was disbursed directly as grants to social enterprises.
- Sustainability: Restricted grant funding decreased from 74.1% in 2024 to 52.44% in 2025, reflecting greater financial independence.
