Abu Dhabi-based Creative Investments Holding has secured $20 million in initial commitments at the first close of its founding round, subject to definitive agreements. The investment company is targeting a total raise of up to $50 million.
Founded by luxury and brands executive Mohamed Talaat Khalifa through his investment arm Leo Equities, Creative Holding counts Onsi Sawiris, Ali Abubakr and Egypt’s Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency among its founding investors.
The company operates across Abu Dhabi, Cairo and Milan, and plans to acquire, create and scale businesses primarily in Egypt and the wider MENA region. Its focus areas include food and culinary experiences, hospitality, fashion and retail, and lifestyle and entertainment.
Creative Holding said it will take controlling and strategic stakes in companies, while providing growth capital and operational infrastructure to help regional brands expand internationally. The platform is led by Khalifa alongside finance and arts specialist Heba Makhlouf, who oversees finance, governance and compliance.
The company said it has an active pipeline that includes a potential first acquisition in the heritage food sector and properties under evaluation for Casa Leo, its planned boutique hotel concept. It is also targeting a public listing on ADX, Tadawul or the London Stock Exchange within five to seven years.
