DIME, a digital health startup founded by a medical student at Beni Suef University, has reached the national final of Egypt’s National Initiative for Smart Green Projects after advancing from the Beni Suef governorate qualifiers.
The company was founded by Mahmoud El-Khasht, a fifth-year medical student at the university’s Faculty of Human Medicine. Its platform is designed to organise a patient’s healthcare journey through a continuous digital medical record.
The system brings together medical history, test and scan results, and doctor visits in a single file that can be accessed by healthcare providers. According to Beni Suef University’s acting president, more than 10,000 patients have used the service, while the company has also attracted strategic investment from healthcare investors and experts.
The university said DIME’s platform could support digital transformation in clinics and hospitals by reducing reliance on paper records and making key patient information easier for doctors to access. Structured patient data may also help improve continuity of care and support more efficient medical decisions.
The startup is participating in the initiative’s startup category under the supervision of the university’s innovation adviser and initiative coordinator, Dr. Abeer Sayed Moawad.
