Egypt’s Education Development Fund (EDF) has partnered with Cairo-based workforce development company Sprints to create a training model focused on artificial intelligence and data analytics.
The agreement aims to align technical training with labor market demand and improve young Egyptians’ readiness for technology jobs in Egypt and abroad. It expands the EDF’s Future Tech Workforce Initiative, which seeks to increase access to skills training.
Sprints’ model combines AI-driven personalization, workplace simulations, adaptive learning, applied projects and peer-based learning. The company said its approach has reached more than 220,000 learners across the region, though that figure has not been independently verified.
Dr. Rasha Sharaf, EDF’s secretary general, said the fund is moving beyond technical instruction to build a pathway from learning to job readiness, while working more closely with private-sector employers to identify in-demand skills.
Sprints co-founder and CEO Ayman Bazaraa described the partnership as an example of public-private collaboration on digital skills. The company was founded in 2019 by Bazaraa and co-founder Bassam Sharkawy.
Neither organisation disclosed enrollment targets, timelines or job-placement benchmarks for the initiative. Its impact will depend on how many trainees complete the program and secure AI or data roles.
