Riyadh-based Foodics, a leading restaurant operations and financial management platform in the MENA region, has announced the full acquisition of Norma AI, a Greece-based artificial intelligence company specializing in the hospitality industry. The deal sees Norma’s team joining a new dedicated AI division at Foodics, with its data analytics technology now fully integrated into the Foodics platform.
Quick Facts
- Foodics completed a 100% acquisition of Greek firm Norma AI.
- Norma’s team will join Foodics’ new dedicated AI division.
- The technology is already active in over 10,000 customer branches.
From Strategic Stake to Full Integration
The acquisition finalizes a process that began with an initial partial stake Foodics took in Norma back in Q1 2025. Following that investment, Norma’s technology was successfully integrated into the Foodics ecosystem and swiftly adopted by more than 10,000 of its customer branches, proving its value in a real-world setting. This completion marks a strategic move to internalize Norma’s expertise and accelerate AI development.
Founded by George Henein and Anastasios Anastasiadis, Norma developed a business intelligence application that allows restaurant operators to ask data-related questions in plain language and get instant, actionable answers. This technology simplifies complex data analytics, making it accessible to business owners without a technical background.
Building an AI-Powered Restaurant OS
With the Norma team now onboard, Foodics is focused on building out its agentic AI capabilities, designed to give restaurant operators intelligent, real-time decision-making tools at an unprecedented scale. The goal is to embed intelligence into every layer of restaurant operations, from inventory to sales.
Ahmad AlZaini, Co-founder and CEO of Foodics, commented on the strategy: “As the industry grew more complex, so did the data – and turning that data into fast, confident decisions became one of the biggest challenges operators face. Our acquisition of Norma accelerates our agentic AI development roadmap and product releases, and strengthens our value proposition. For our operators, that translates directly into greater efficiency, smarter decision-making, and healthier profit margins.”
A Greek Startup’s Path to MENA Scale
For Norma, the deal provides a direct path to one of the largest and fastest-growing F&B markets. The company, founded in Greece by a team of engineers and AI specialists, had previously joined Foodics’ solutions marketplace before the initial investment.
“Norma was built to help restaurants make better decisions by making data more accessible and easier to use with an intuitive experience,” said George Henein, Norma’s Co-founder. “By joining forces with Foodics, we gain the scale, resources, and reach to accelerate the adoption of what we’re building. Combining Foodics’ market leadership with Norma’s expertise in AI and analytics creates a strong foundation for the next generation of hospitality technology.”
With over 40,000 branches already on its platform across the GCC and North Africa, the full integration of Norma’s AI represents a significant deployment of artificial intelligence within the global hospitality sector.
