The Sharjah Businesswomen Council has launched an initiative to help its members establish 1,000 online stores with a total value of AED3.6 million.

Under a memorandum of understanding with e-commerce platform Packman Portal, participating women-led businesses will receive online stores and related services free of charge for one year. The agreement was signed by Maryam bin Sheikh, director of the council, and Mohammed Al Rashid, co-founder and chief strategy officer of Packman.

The package includes a dedicated website, payment gateway, product management system, administrative dashboard, customisable design options, practical training and technical support. Businesses that complete at least 365 customer orders during their first year will qualify for a second year of free services.

Packman will also run workshops covering digital commerce, online business development, store creation, inventory, order fulfilment, customer service, digital marketing and performance improvement. The partnership will include awareness campaigns and future joint initiatives aimed at increasing women-owned businesses’ participation in Sharjah’s digital economy.
