Syrian mobility and delivery startup YallaGo is preparing to raise $10M in a Series A round as it targets doubling its monthly active users next year, co-founder and CEO Khaled Mustafa told An-Nahar.
The platform currently has more than 200,000 monthly active users, over 1 million app downloads and 40,000 registered drivers, according to the company. YallaGo said it measures growth by active usage rather than downloads.
The planned funding would support expansion, product development and the addition of services aligned with Syria’s digital transformation. YallaGo currently operates in Damascus and its surrounding countryside, Aleppo, Homs, Hama, Latakia, Idlib, Tartus and Daraa.
The company said it is also developing the app into a broader daily-services platform. Its offering includes ride-hailing, food delivery and item delivery, with planned additions including electronic payments, bus tracking, bus ticket booking and parking services.
Cash remains central to transactions in Syria, but YallaGo said it is preparing to add digital payment options as the regulatory and technical environment develops. Mustafa added that expansion outside Syria would be considered later, once the company’s technology, operations and economics can be replicated in a suitable market.
