UAE Announces €40B Investment Plan for Germany Focused on AI, Energy and Industry

The UAE has announced plans to invest €40 billion in Germany across industry, advanced technology, artificial intelligence, digital infrastructure and energy.

The announcement coincided with UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan’s state visit to Berlin. Bavaria, one of Germany’s main technology, engineering and industrial hubs, is set to receive €10 billion of the total.

According to the announcement, the investment is intended to combine Germany’s industrial, research and technology capabilities with the UAE’s capital and ability to support large-scale projects. Officials said it could create opportunities for companies and institutions in both countries to form long-term partnerships and exchange knowledge and skills.

The Germany commitment follows similar agreements with France and Italy, where the UAE has focused on AI, advanced technology and infrastructure. In France, the plans included a 1.4-gigawatt AI campus backed by Abu Dhabi’s MGX, Bpifrance, Mistral AI and Nvidia. Abu Dhabi’s G42 has also backed AI compute clusters in Grenoble and Italy.

Specific German investments have not yet been detailed. The announcement marks another step in the UAE’s broader push to make digital infrastructure and AI central to its international investment partnerships.
