Hub71, Abu Dhabi’s global tech ecosystem, has formalized a strategic partnership with Venturewave Capital, marking a significant deepening of ties between the UAE and Ireland. This collaboration follows a series of high-level diplomatic exchanges, including a recent visit by an Irish delegation led by Minister H.E. Peter Burke, aiming to create reciprocal growth pathways for startups in both nations.
Creating A Cross-Border Innovation Gateway
The partnership establishes Venturewave Capital as Hub71’s first Irish venture capital partner, a move designed to facilitate market access for founders in both regions. Venturewave is currently in the process of incorporating within the Abu Dhabi Global Market (ADGM), reinforcing the operational link between the two ecosystems. The agreement allows Irish startups to utilize Abu Dhabi as a launchpad for the MENA region while providing Hub71 startups with clearer entry points into European and North American markets.
Targeting High-Impact Strategic Sectors
Beyond general market access, the collaboration targets specific priority sectors including Health, Education, Food & Agriculture, Climate, and Sustainable Finance. Venturewave Capital will actively participate in Hub71’s selection process, helping to evaluate startups for program entry and supporting their expansion strategies. Ahmad Ali Alwan, CEO of Hub71, noted that this alliance opens new pathways for capital and expertise, while Venturewave Chairman Alan Foy emphasized the shared mission of driving global impact through innovation.
