UAE Launches Dubai Ambition Initiative To Funnel Local Talent Into The Private Sector

3 Min Read

The Emirati Human Resources Development Council (EHRDC) has launched its flagship ‘Dubai Ambition’ initiative, a strategic program designed to nurture national talent and strengthen the pipeline of skilled Emirati graduates entering the private sector. The announcement was made during the Dubai Emiratisation Forum.

The initiative aims to create an integrated ecosystem that unites government entities, educational institutions, and private-sector companies. This collaborative framework is designed to empower Emirati students and graduates, preparing them for the demands of the modern labor market and driving human capital development in line with Dubai’s economic goals.

A Strategic Bridge Between Education and Employment

Sultan bin Saeed Al Mansoori, Chairman of the EHRDC, emphasized that the initiative reflects the Council’s long-term vision to build a comprehensive pathway for local talent, starting from early awareness and practical training to securing sustainable employment in the private sector.

“At EHRDC, we believe that strategic partnerships are the key to realising our goals and nurturing capable national talents who can keep pace with economic transformations, while contributing to strengthening Dubai’s competitiveness and knowledge-based economy,” Al Mansoori stated. “We believe that this launch marks a significant achievement in advancing Dubai’s Emiratisation ecosystem, enhancing human development objectives and establishing a sustainable model of cooperation between the public and private sectors.”

Ambitious Targets for 2026

The Dubai Ambition initiative has set clear and measurable targets to be achieved by 2026. The program aims to:

  • Raise awareness among 10,000 Emirati students about opportunities in the private sector.
  • Provide practical training opportunities to 10,000 Emirati students and graduates within private companies.
  • Facilitate the employment of 5,000 Emirati citizens within the private sector.
These goals are intended to create sustainable career pathways and improve the alignment between educational outcomes and the specific needs of the labor market, a critical factor for startups and high-growth companies seeking qualified local talent. The initiative was launched with the participation of 20 entities from diverse sectors.

Aligning with National Vision

This program directly supports the strategic objectives of the ‘Dubai Economic Agenda’ (D33) and the ‘UAE Centennial 2071’ vision. By focusing on human capital as the cornerstone of economic and social progress, Dubai Ambition aims to create a sustainable talent pool that will fuel the emirate’s knowledge-based economy for years to come.
