Investcorp Unveils AI Investment Framework to Target High-Value Opportunities Globally

3 Min Read

Investcorp, the global alternative investment firm with deep roots in the GCC, has officially launched its AI Investment Framework. The new strategy provides a structured approach for analyzing and acting on opportunities related to artificial intelligence across the firm’s private equity, real assets, and credit investment activities.

Quick Facts

  • Framework spans Private Equity, Real Assets, and Credit.
  • Targets mission-critical, data-rich, and operationally resilient businesses.
  • Integrates AI across the entire investment lifecycle.

A Disciplined Approach to AI Investing

Investcorp’s framework signals a strategic move to harness what it views as one of the most significant structural shifts in the global economy. Rather than a blanket adoption of AI technologies, the firm is emphasizing a selective and disciplined approach, focusing on opportunities where AI can directly enhance operational performance and create long-term value without compromising on underwriting standards.

Mohammed Alardhi, Executive Chairman of Investcorp, explained the firm’s perspective: “Artificial intelligence represents a fundamental shift in how value is created across the global economy. For private markets, this is not simply about adopting new technologies, but about applying them with discipline and intent. As a global alternative investment firm, we believe that a selective, cross-platform approach enables investors to capture the opportunities AI presents, while continuing to prioritize resilience and long-term performance.”

Integrating AI From Sourcing to Value Creation

The new framework is being embedded throughout Investcorp’s entire investment process. This includes using AI to accelerate research and due diligence, improve investment committee processes, and support portfolio monitoring. The firm is also deploying targeted AI-enabled tools across its portfolio companies to boost productivity and profitability.

Rishi Kapoor, Vice Chairman and Chief Investment Officer of Investcorp, added, “At Investcorp, we are embedding AI across our investment platform, from sourcing and diligence through to portfolio management and value creation. This framework reflects our belief that AI is not a standalone strategy, but a powerful lens through which we assess opportunities, manage risk and enhance performance. By focusing on targeted, high-impact use cases, we are strengthening our ability to deliver disciplined returns for our clients.”
