Standard Chartered Foundation has launched the second edition of its Women in Tech program in Egypt in partnership with startup support organisation Intilaq and Village Capital.

The 2026 program will support 12 women-led technology startups that have validated their business models and are ready to move into a new phase of growth. Participants will receive investment-readiness training, business development support and tailored mentoring.

At the end of the program, three startups will compete for non-dilutive grants worth a combined $35,000. Intilaq will lead the program’s implementation in Egypt, with activities scheduled to run from September to December 2026.

The first Egyptian edition received 240 applications and selected 11 startups, which took part in more than 35 training sessions and over 40 mentoring sessions and roundtables, according to the announcement. Village Capital said the 2025 cohort collectively reached nearly 16,000 new customers, created more than 430 jobs and generated an additional $2.7M in revenue.

The program comes as women-led startups in Egypt face an estimated $2.2B funding gap, according to Intilaq’s Women in Entrepreneurship 2025 report. Globally, Standard Chartered’s Women in Tech program has supported more than 4,000 women across 17 markets and allocated over $600,000 in grants this year.
