The Alexandria Businessmen Association has launched “Leaders and Entrepreneurs,” a new discussion series focused on entrepreneurship, investment, digital transformation and innovation in Egypt.
The first session brought together Sherine Helmy, chairman of Pharco Pharmaceuticals Group, and entrepreneur and investor Mohamed Abu El-Naga, known as Nagaty. The series is designed to give young entrepreneurs and business owners access to practical experience and perspectives from leaders in industry, investment and entrepreneurship, according to the announcement.
Helmy highlighted the importance of training programs that build entrepreneurs’ skills and encouraged founders to start, even on a small scale, as an initial step toward growth and sustainability. He also discussed his experience managing Pharco after succeeding his father and stressed the value of giving qualified young professionals opportunities to contribute to business development.
Nagaty called on the association to adopt promising new ideas and provide the financial and technical support needed to help Egyptian companies grow and improve their export potential, particularly in technology. He also said Alexandria offers a suitable environment for testing new ventures, urging founders to assess feasibility early before expanding.
Association chairman Medhat El-Qady said the initiative aims to transfer experience between generations. The association also supports small and micro-enterprises, trains young people and works to align skills development with labour-market needs.
